Author Stephen Wolfram talked with ABC News correspondent Robert Krulwich about his life and his book A New Kind of Science, published by Wolfram Media, Inc. Mr. Wolfram argued that it was possible to describe many fundamental problems in science by using simple computational rules and that this new way of looking at the universe was superior to current theories based on mathematics. He also talked about how he developed his theory and responded to a critical review of his book by Ray Kurzweil. Some points were illustrated by slides. A question and answer session followed the discussion. close
