Elizabeth Borgwardt talked about her book, A New Deal for the World: America’s Vision for Human Rights, published by Belknap Press. The book chronicles the New Deal era and the effects such measures have had on modern day human rights, foreign policy, and the global economy. She described the thought process behind New Deal organizers and argued that for the first time, the interests of the people were placed before the interests of national governments. After her presentation she responded to audience members' questions.

This event was part of a year-long celebration of the 125th anniversary of President Franklin Delano Roosevelt’s birth.

The FDR Library hosted the Roosevelt Reading Festival IV in the Henry A. Wallace Visitor and Education Center. Authors of recently published works that drew upon the Roosevelt Library archives talked about their books. close
