Mr. Miller talked about his book, Publishing: A Leap from Mind to Mind, from Fulcrum Publishing. In the book, the author examines the publishing industry, focusing on Houghton Mifflin. Mr. Miller joined Houghton Mifflin Company in 1950 as a textbook salesman and worked his way up, ultimately serving as president and chairman of the company from 1973 to 1990. Publishing traces the development of the Houghton Mifflin in a changing industry. One of the sources for the book was interviews with experts, who provided insights on subjects ranging from education to children’s literature. Following prepared remarks, Mr. Miller responded to questions from the audience. close
