Members of the National Commission on AIDS spoke in a news conference to announce the release of their final report on the AIDS epidemic entitled, “AIDS: An Expanding Tragedy.” The commission found, among other conclusions, that the failure of the government to coordinate and plan policy on AIDS was a contributing factor to the spread of the HIV virus, which has been linked to AIDS. The speakers discussed the commission’s findings and its policy recommendations. close
