Professor Weigley talked about his book, A Great Civil War: A Military and Political History, 1861-1865, published by Indiana University Press. The author evaluated the roles of Generals Lee, Grant and McClellan, among others. He also explored the importance of Gettysburg to both Union and Confederate war efforts. He offered several reasons why Confederate forces were unsuccessful, including lack of men and resources and an over-reliance on General Lee.
