The panelists talked about “Westmoreland v. CBS” in which General William Westmoreland charged that the producer of a 1982 CBS special, “The Uncounted Enemy: A Vietnam Deception,” manipulated the story to fit their conclusions. In 1985 the case was settled out of court but its arguments continue to be studied by the legal profession. The panelists were all participants in the case, including the judge, a juror, and attorneys for Westmoreland, Wallace, and CBS. close
