Mr. Gardner talked about his new book, Extraordinary Minds: Portraits of Exceptional Individuals and an Examination of Our Extraordinariness, published by Basic Books. The book examines what makes people extraordinarily mentally gifted through details of the lives of Mozart, Virginia Woolf, Freud and Gandhi. He also talked about his research on some other historical figures, such as Igor Stravinsky, and what they reveal about the characteristics of extraordinary intelligence.
