Professor Rakove talked about his new book, Original Meanings: Politics and Ideas in the Making of the Constitution, published by Knopf. The book won the 1997 Pulitzer Prize for history and concentrates on the process that led to the drafting of the U.S. Constitution in a historical and political context. Professor Rakove teaches history at Stanford University.
