Utah’s governor and members of its congressional delegation reacted to President Clinton’s decision to set aside about 1.7 million acres of southern Utah as a national monument. They criticized him for depriving Utah citizens of precious resources and for not consulting Congress on this issues or even being forthright with their delegation.
