During this portion, platform committee members debated amendments to the portions of the platform which deal with foreign policy issues, such as terrorism, NATO and U.S. defense forces, as these portions were read by the chair and vice chair of the foreign policy subcommittee. Much of the debate focused on the party position on women in combat.
