At a ceremony held in retiring Senator Hatfield’s honor, friends and colleagues, including President Clinton, spoke about his career and shared memorable moments. The “Singing Senators” gave a musical tribute to Senator Hatfield, and taped remarks from Angela Lansbury were played. Ms. Roberts moderated the event.
