Lieutenant Governor Huckabee announced that he will not run for the Senate in 1996 because he will become governor of Arkansas when Governor Tucker resigns. He called on both parties for unity to rebuild the people’s trust in the state government of Arkansas in the wake of Governor Tucker’s conviction for conspiracy and mail fraud in the first Whitewater trial.
