The House Postsecondary Education subcommittee held an oversight hearing on the rising costs of attending American colleges and universities, a phenomenon that, if continued, could limit the availability of higher education. Witnesses before the subcommittee included two current university students, the President of Washington College, Douglass Cater, as well as experts from the Department of Education and the private sector.
