Current news events and political issues were examined through reviews of the morning newspapers; interviews with journalists, newsmakers and legislators; and viewer telephone calls, faxes and electronic mail. In the first segment Mr. Berke talked about his front page New York Times article on Senator Dole’s returning a campaign contribution to a gay and lesbian group. In the newspaper roundtable, Mr. Mann and Mr. Moore talked about the morning headline stories. In the final segment, Governor Wilson talked about tomorrow’s formal announcement of his intention to seek the Republican nomination for president.
