Knopf, Inc. The book concerns the development of modern values from the Victorian virtues, and the differences between modern values and Victorian virtues. She lists four Victorian virtues: wisdom, justice, temperance and courage. The author asserts that the Victorian virtues of hard work and deferral of gratification are the tools to fix current social problems in America. Topics included her husband, Irving Kristol, and son, William Kristol.
