President Clinton welcomed veterans of the Apollo space program to the White House East Room to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Apollo 11. Noting the valor, courage, and pioneering spirit of the Apollo astronauts, the President said, “They’ve shown us that we can harness the technology of space in areas from the economy to the environment to education to information and technology.” The President stressed that his commitment to the space program is “strong and unwavering.”
