Participants discussed the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution
and the different views of restricted and liberal deconstruction of
this and other amendments. Mr. Griffin talked about his defense of a
Ku Klux Klan member who is fighting a First Amendment question
against the State of Texas. He said that as a black NAACP lawyer he has come
under considerable criticism by blacks and others for his
participation in the case.
