The U.S. Senate met and began a period of morning business, during which members made speeches on a number of topics including line item veto, small business protections, and many others. Once completed the Senate then continued debate on S.919 the National Community Service Trust Act. Senators debated the bill and voted on a number of amendments to it. The Senate then agreed to the calendar of business for the following session and having done so stood recess until the following morning. close
