Former officials from the George W. Bush and Obama administrations talked about the impact and implications of the new Russia sanctions bill signed into law by President Trump in early August 2017. The panelists said the sanctions may not achieve what Congress had hoped, and advised that congressional leaders and the administration should clarify what U.S. interests are and how best to advance them. They also advised that greater efforts should be made to work with NATO and European allies toward setting and achieving a successful strategy for Russia relations. close
