President Trump met with the families of people killed by undocumented immigrants. At the time of the meeting, Congress was considering two immigration-related pieces of legislation, Kate’s Law and the No Sanctuary for Criminals Act. Kate’s Law increases penalties for undocumented immigrants convicted of crimes, deported and then re-enter the U.S. illegally. The No Sanctuary for Criminals Act denies states and localities with sanctuary laws Justice and Homeland Security Department grants. close
