Professor Martin Johnson talked about Lincoln’s planning for and writing of the Gettysburg Address, which was given at the dedication of a national cemetery for soldiers killed during the battle. On November 19th, 1863, President Abraham Lincoln delivered what has since become one of the most noted speeches in American history, the Gettysburg Address. This talk was part of a conference hosted by the Gettysburg College Civil War Institute. close
