Law enforcement officials from New York, Massachusetts and Maryland testified before the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee on efforts to combat the MS-13 street gang in local communities. MS-13 is multi-national gang started in Los Angeles with members in major U.S. and Central American cities. Witnesses all agreed that unaccompanied immigrant children from Central America are the most vulnerable to being recruited and emphasized the importance of youth intervention programs. close
