Judge N. Sanders Sauls heard arguments from the Bush and Gore campaigns as to whether to manually count ballots from several counties in which the presidential election was being contested. Statisticians, members of several county canvassing boards, and citizens testified about the manual count process. After the witnesses had testified, campaign lawyers and intervenors representing interested parties made closing arguments. close
