Secretary of State John Kerry and South Korea’s foreign minister addressed reporters following their private ministerial meeting with their defense ministers on the North Korean nuclear threat. They emphasized the strong alliance between their two countries and efforts to denuclearize the Korean Peninsula. Secretary Kerry announced that the U.S. and South Korea had established a dialogue based on extended deterrence. In addition, he also addressed the Syrian conflict and the ceasefire talks between the U.S. and Russia.
