Former President Ronald Reagan spoke to an audience of Oxford students and faculty on foreign policy issues following the end of the Cold War. In his remarks, the former president stated that “evil still walks the planet,” and backed military intervention to distribute humanitarian aid to the people of Somalia. He urged that the free nations of the world seize the initiative to spread democracy following their success in the Cold War. The former president was presented with an Oxford boat oar following his remarks. close
