President Obama spoke to a class of 500 Mandela Washington Fellows at the Young African Leaders Initiative Presidential Summit. He praised their accomplishments and what they would be taking back to Africa. He also spoke of “old traditions” that needed to stop. He also answered questions from the fellows who represent every country in sub-Saharan Africa. Te fellows briefly sang “Happy Birthday” to the president.
