The United Nations Security Council held a meeting on Israeli-Palestinian relations and to vote on a peace agreement proposal, which would call on Israel to end its occupation of Palestinian territories in 2017. Members failed to adopt the resolution. Of the 15-member council, eight members, including Russia, China, and France, voted for the resolution while the U.S. and Australia voted against it. Five countries abstained. close
