Sen. Mitchell and Democratic vice presidential candidate Sen. Al Gore spoke at a rally in Biddeford, Maine, for the Clinton-Gore ticket. Speaking in front of a high school band and before an enthusiastic audience, Sen. Gore spoke on the grass roots support for the Democratic ticket as reflected on the Clinton-Gore bus tour, and criticized the economic policies of the Bush administration with a number of humorous quotes concerning the presidency of George Bush. Sen. Gore also mentioned the role of then-Vice President Bush in the Iran-Contra scandal.
