Duke University professor Lawrence Zelenak talked about his book, Learning to Love Form 1040: Two Cheers for the Return-Based Mass Income Tax, in which he looks at the history of mass-based federal income tax and discusses why our process of paying taxes, once viewed as a matter of civic duty, is now largely viewed in negative terms. He also talked about ways to make paying taxes a means to increasing fiscal citizenship in the country. This interview, part of Book TV’s College Series, took place at the Washington Duke Inn on the campus of Duke University. close
