New Jersey Governor Chris Christie (R) held a news conference to address reports that a member of his staff may have closed lanes on the George Washington Bridge as political retaliation for the Fort Lee, New Jersey, mayor’s failure to endorse Governor Christie for re-election. In his remarks he apologized for the actions of his office saying he was “embarrassed and humiliated” by the revelations and said he had fired a deputy chief of staff for her role in the incident. close
