Mike Moeller talked about the daily operations of the Enbridge oil tank farm in Cushing, Oklahoma. Enbridge is a Canadian-based energy company that distributes and transports crude oil, natural gas, and other liquids. He also talked about the design and cost of the storage facilities, and safety, security, and environmental concerns.

At the conclusion of the program a clip was shown of President Obama’s October 31, 2013, speech on foreign investment in the U.S. He made the remarks at the Department of Commerce’s International Trade Administration investment summit.

Each segment of the November 6, 2013, “Washington Journal” was about the oil industry, focusing on Cushing, Oklahoma. Cushing is sometimes referred to as the “capital of the American oil kingdom.” The community contains the biggest bank vault of U.S. oil in the country, with more than 80 million barrels of oil storage capacity, according to Bloomberg Businessweek. close
