An official ceremony was held at the 16th Street Baptist Church in Birmingham, Alabama, to commemorated the 50th anniversary of the bombing of the church by segregationists on September 15, 1963. Four little girls, Addie Mae Collins, Denise McNair, Carole Robertson and Cynthia Wesley, ages 11 to 14, were killed. Also remembered were two boys who were shot dead later in the day. close
