At the daily White House briefing Jay Carney answered reporters questions, which were primarily about the whereabouts of Edward Snowden, the former National Security Agency contractor accused of leaking information to the press about the agency’s surveillance programs. He said that China made a “deliberate choice” in releasing Mr. Snowden from Hong Kong, calling the actions of the Chinese government a “serious setback” in U.S.-China relations. close
