Ambassador Robert King and others talked about the state of human rights in North Korea, the difficulties involved with making progress on the issue, and efforts by the U.S. to help. Ambassador King in his remarks said that North Korea was holding between 100,000 and 200,000 political prisoners, and that foreign radio broadcasts were the most common way of receiving information from outside the country.
