Alison Redford, the premier of Alberta Province, talked about the Keystone XL pipeline, which would run from Alberta to the Texas coast, the U.S. State Department’s recent Supplement Environmental Impact Statement (SEIS) examining the pipeline, and the Alberta-U.S. energy relationship. She described efforts to curb pollution from tar sands oil production, but said that tar sands production would not slow down if the pipeline was not extended to the Gulf of Mexico. After her remarks she was interviewed by Daniel Yergin and responded to questions submitted by members of the audience. She was interrupted by protestors several times. close
