Grover Norquist and Laura Murphy talked about potential changes to the Electronic Communications Privacy Act (ECPA), which governs government access to information stored on the Internet. They argued that the government could read emails without a warrant, and that privacy rules on the Internet were far looser than those that apply to the postal service or telephone use.

The two guests came together to support changing the ECPA, and also to launch the Digital 4th, a group “dedicated to bringing Fourth Amendment protections into the 21st century.” close
