Former Prime Minister of Belgium Guy Verhofstadt talked about the political and economic future of the European Union. He addressed Europe’s fiscal problems and called for “drastic changes” to the governing system. In his comments, he considered the EU’s future political and economic integration and the parallels with America’s experience with federalism. After his remarks he was interviewed by David Frum and responded to questions from members of the audience.
