Trevor Aaronson talked about his book, The Terror Factory: Inside the FBI’s Manufactured War on Terrorism, in which he said that since September 11, 2001, the FBI had built up a network of over 15,000 informants in Muslim communities around the U.S. He argued that these informants spearheaded phony terror plots which were then exposed by the FBI with great fanfare to make counterterrorism efforts appear sucessful. During this event, Mr. Aaronson spoke with Monika Bauerlein, co-editor of Mother Jones magazine.
