Gustavo Mohar, a former Mexican government senior immigration official, talked about the latest migration trends between the U.S. and Mexico. He said that the U.S. economic downturn and Mexico’s own recent economic success had contributed to a decrease in overall migration into the U.S., while Mexico was seeing increased migration from neighboring countries such as Guatemala.
