National Rifle Association (NRA) President David Keene talked about gun control legislation at a Christian Science Monitor Breakfast event at the St. Regis Hotel. He said his organization would withhold judgment on efforts to expand background checks for gun sales until there was actual legislation put forward by Congress. Mr. Keene said some restrictions on large-capacity magazines may pass legal muster in the Courts. He also said the AR-15 semi-automatic rifle should not be on any list of banned assault weapons.
