Automobile manufacturer executives talked about the prospects for electric, natural gas and hydrogen-powered vehicles. Topics included challenges to meeting Obama administration fuel efficiency standards, ways to make electric cars competitive with gasoline-fueled vehicles, and “Tier 3” fuel standards rule currently under review by the Obama administration. All three of the panelists expressed support for the Obama administration’s efforts to increase auto fuel efficiency over the upcoming decade. The program included questions from audience members.
