Vice President Biden spoke to reporters after having lunch with a group of local residents at the Metro 29 Diner in Arlington, Virginia. He talked about stories they shared with him on how they would be affected if Republican congressional leaders and the White House are unable to agree on extending the middle class tax cuts to avoid the “fiscal cliff.” The vice president then reiterated what he said are the White House’s “minimum requirements” for a deal to be reached.

“Fiscal cliff” refers to the impending tax increases and budget cuts at the end of 2012 if Congress failed to reach a budget agreement. close
