Musician and activist Bono spoke at Georgetown University on social enterprise and the power of social movements to create change. He called on students to focus their energies on hunger, education, and health in Africa. He urged U.S. politicians not to cut foreign aid for malnourished children or people with HIV/AIDS as they deal with the “fiscal cliff,” the automatic tax increases and spending cuts scheduled for January 2013 if Congress does not reach a budget agreement before then. Bono also responded to questions from members of the audience in Gaston Hall. close
