Military historian Patrick O’Donnell talked about his book, Dog Company: The Boys of Pointe du Hoc - The Rangers Who Accomplished D-Day’s Toughest Mission and Led the Way Across Europe. He recounted the U.S. Army’s 2nd Ranger Battalion’s D Company, “Dog Company,” composed of sixty-eight men whose military campaigns during World War II included landing on the beaches of Normandy and the ascent of Pointe du Hoc. Patrick O’Donnell spoke at the National Portrait Gallery in Washington, D.C. and responded to questions from the audience.
