Law professor Richard Sander and former New York Times correspondent Stuart Taylor talked about their book, Mismatch: How Affirmative Action Hurts the Students It’s Intended to Help, and Why Universities Won’t Admit It. They also presented their thoughts on affirmative action prior to the Supreme Court’s hearing of oral arguments in Fisher v. University of Texas. They said that they agreed with the initial goals of affirmative action but now believe the system hurts more than helps minorities.
