Phones lines were open for responses to the question, “How do you feel about the White House-proposed waivers to states' for their Welfare-to-Work programs?” Currently the federal law requires people receiving welfare to eventually get work and get off the program. The White House waivers would allow states to experiment with new ways of implementing the law. Viewer responses were taken via telephone and electronic devices.
