Supreme Court reporters reviewed the 2011-12 term. Among the topics they covered were the consistency of the justices on First Amendment issues, rulings against the government in life sentences for juveniles, allowing police to track someone by global positioning systems, and plea bargaining cases. They discussed the Affordable Care Act ruling, the health care law, at length. Of Chief Justice Roberts' vote on health care, David Savage said, “...eight of the nine voted as you would have guessed.... Only one justice voted in a way that you wouldn’t have guessed....It seems to me the last person you ought to say that made a decision that’s political is John Roberts.”
