Nobel Laureate Tawakkol Karman spoke about political unrest and violence in North Africa and the Middle, often referred to the “Arab Spring.” She talked about her experiences starting the uprising in Yemen, the current situation in Arab countries including massacres in Syria, international interest in the uprisings, the influence of al-Qaida, terrorism and U.S. drone attacks that target civilians. Following her remarks she answered questions from the audience.
