House Armed Services Committee Member Mike Conaway (R-TX) talked about General John Allen’s previous day testimony before the committee, and he responded to telephone calls and electronic communications. General Allen, the top U.S. and NATO commander in Afghanistan, told members that coalition forces are making progress despite heart-wrenching events such as the murder of 16 innocent Afghan civilians by a U.S. service member.
