Jay Carney briefed reporters and answered questions. Much of the briefing dealt with the Obama administration ruling on a provision of the 2010 health care law that requires church-affiliated employers to cover contraceptives and other preventive services in their health insurance plans. Other topics included the STOCK Act on insider trading, the violence in Syria, as well as President Obama’s meeting with Senate Democrats at the Washington Nationals' baseball park.
